OSTEN Skopje, alongside the important communication with international artists (most evident throughout the activities of the OSTEN BIENIALL OF DRAWING and the Museum of Drawing) follows, with exceptional attention, the activity of Macedonian artists too. With the goal of providing a space for presentation, stimulation and motivation of artists and improving interpersonal collaboration among them – OSTEN organizes a manifestation known as OSTEN’S ARTISTS OF THE YEAR.

Each year, “OSTEN art on paper” declares 12 Macedonian artists as OSTEN’S ARTISTS. Artists of various age groups, different styles of artistic expression and diverse parts of Macedonia are invited, but there is one thing that unites all OSTEN’S ARTISTS, and that is the drawing of a fixed format: 110 х 190 cm., that, according to the rules and regulations, must be made by each and every one of them.
The 12 artists selected for a period of one year are being awarded with awards and recognitions such as:

OSTEN’S ARTIST OF THE YEAR
YOUNG ARTIST OF THE YEAR (younger than 40)

The basic idea is to establish and promote an event that will make it possible for us here at OSTEN to express our admiration and respect to Macedonian artists for a successfully completed professional year. Our intention is to demonstrate that we pay full attention to the activities on the Macedonian scene of visual arts, as well as the accomplishments of artists separately.
The general goal is to encourage, affirm and stimulate artistic activities in Macedonia through creative and motivational methods of cooperation between OSTEN and Macedonian artists.
